A Serious Dream

Some time ago I had a fairly serious dream.
One with a good amount of effort and dedication.

Okay ... it had a few laughs in it too.
Some time ago ... and, some time ago ...

And I remember being much more serious once ...
Almost ... as if it were in a dream

And then ...I remember there was a lot a pain
For a while ... for a while ... a while.

And ... I remember being much more serious once ...
Almost forgetting there once was a dream ...

One with a good amount of effort and dedication.
And kids. And a few laughs in it too.

Some times the memories of love burn us
Unexpectedly ... unexpectedly ...

Here now watch, as I add only more sharply
The memory of this fresh new pain.

I can only be grateful for the memory
Of a time when I was lovingly more serious.
